WHAT DOES IT COST?The cost for a 10-week session is currently $185 per student. Receive a $20 discount if you register before the early registration deadline. A sibling discount of $10 per person is offered for families with three or more paying family members registered in the same session. Contact b.maxwell@cytvanport.org to get your coupon code.
ARE THERE ANY FEES FOR CANCELLATION?
There is a $20 processing fee for any cancellations. No refunds will be made after the third week of class, or if the student elects to audition for the show. Classes dropped within the first 3 weeks are refunded pro-rata.
DO I HAVE TO TAKE A CLASS TO BE IN A SHOW?
Yes! Our high energy classes are taught by highly qualified individuals who will help you gain the skills you need to perform to your highest potential on the stage.
WHICH CLASS AREA CAN I TAKE CLASSES IN?
All students are eligible to take classes in any of our areas. You are then allowed to audition for any of our four shows during that session. For instance, you may take a class in Beaverton, and audition for the show in Vancouver East.
How to Register for Classes
Click on the link above to register online, or download a Class Registration Form. If you choose paper registration, print up the form, fill it out and drop it in the mail or bring it by the office. Classes are filled on a first come, first serve basis so please indicate your second and third choice classes. Your registration will be processed in the order it is received. Online registration is the fastest way to reserve your spot in a class.To receive the first-time student price of $125.00, select the class you would like to register for, and follow the registration process. You will have the opportunity to check a box confirming that it is a first-time registration, and the discount will be applied.
You may enroll your child in classes in more than one area if they do not meet on the same night.
Now that you are registered...
STEP 1: Print out a Medical Release/Behavior Contract Form. You MUST bring this form, FILLED OUT and SIGNED, to your first class session.STEP 2: Read Class Guidelines
STEP 3: Get all the information on the current season of CYT shows under the Shows link on the menu bar. You will also find audition advice there.
STEP 4: Print out any additional forms you will need in order to audition or sign up for backstage crew or ushering.
Class Guidelines
• Respect for teachers, staff, parents, and other students is expected at all times.• Honoring language will be used. Name-calling, profanity and/or inappropriate actions will not be tolerated.
• Students’ conduct will be respectful of property, and therefore, any damage done to property will be replaced or repaired by the student.
• CYT expects purity of self in relationships with others and one’s own body; therefore, drugs, alcohol or smoking are strictly prohibited. Overt physical contact between students is inappropriate at CYT activities.
• Students who are cast in a production are required to attend their CYT classes for the entire 10-week session, including Showcase on the last day of class.
Dress Code:
• CYT expects students to dress modestly and appropriately, in a way that promotes a healthy environment and eliminates distractions. Download the Dress Code sheet to see our “No Bare Zone” graphic.
• Overly tight or revealing clothing is not acceptable.
• Midriffs must be covered, even when arms are raised or when seated.
• Undergarments are not to be visible or exposed.
