We are currently accepting applications for internship with CYT. A CYT internship will give you work skills and experience that will benefit you in the future. It will also help CYT meet it’s goal of providing quality theater arts education to families.

You are eligible to apply if you:

1. Are ages 16-21

2. Have some basic computer and typing skills (know how to create a document, research on the internet, etc…)

3. Have taken at least three sessions of classes with CYT

4. Have transportation to and from the office or work site

5. Have good customer service skills

6. Can maintain confidentiality of information you may hear or see in the course of your internship

7. Are self motivated

Your first session as an intern will last 12 weeks from the week before through the week after a session. You will work approximately 5 hours a week based on a schedule that you and your supervisor agree upon. In this time, you will see all sides of the business, completing a checklist of tasks which will familiarize you with what we do behind the scenes. You will work with most of our staff at some point, discovering their major job functions and assisting with tasks. Your overseer will be the Artistic Director who will shepherd you through the entire internship and evaluate your progress and readiness for a secondary internship if it is desired.

You may re-apply every session to intern with CYT as long as you remain eligible. After successful completion of your first internship, you will be eligible to apply for a specialty internship in one of many areas: costumes, film, sets, accounting, office management, props, special effects, sound, etc…

What is the process of application?

1. Fill out and turn in an application and attach a letter of recommendation.

2. Prior to each session, our intern review board will select candidates to interview.

3. Candidates will be notified within one week of the interview.
